North Canaan Elementary School
Fund-Raising Projects

North Canaan Elementary School is involved in several fund-raising projects. Each project seeks to provide funds for improving some aspect of the school program.

  1. The Price Chopper "Tools for Schools" program began on August 25 and ended on December 15, 2007. We finished the program with 6,500.29 points. I will use these points to "purchase" items for the computer program. Thank you to friends and family who shopped at Price Chooper to help us earn these points! Your help is greatly appreciated.
  2. The school continues to participate in a program which both benefits the school and the environment. We are collecting inkjet cartridges, laser cartridges and cell phones. Each eligible item earns us points which can be redeemed for cash or educational equipment. A collection box is located in the office of the school. For information about this program, click on this link to the Funding Factory. For a list of qualifying cartridges and cell phones, please click here. The program has become more stringent about accepting certain cartridges and phones. They have stated that we must not send copier toner cartridges. If you have any questions about this program, contact Pat Palmer at the school or check the list of qualifying cartridges.
    1. A big "thank you" to the people who keep dropping off the laser and ink cartridges! We especially would like to thank parents who work at local businesses for contributing qualifying laser cartridges from these companies.
    2. As of December 31, 2007, we had accumulated 630.25 points for a monetary value of $252.10. We have not decided as yet how to use this money.
    3. Thank you to all who contribute cartridges and cell phones.
    4. If anyone would like to assist with this program, please contact Pat Palmer
  3. The PTO is involved in the Box Tops 4 Education program. Clip Box Tops from eligible products and send them into school. Each box top is worth $.10. For a list of participating products online, you must first sign up to be a member of the Box Tops Booster Club. Click on this link to the Box Tops 4 Education website to sign up or find out more information about this program.

Thank you to parents and friends for your support of our projects.
