TREASURER'S REPORT: Report was read and accepted.

  • A discussion was held about breaking down deposits and profits on separate pages and to also break down by event. Tammy will make sure to list everything separately for next month.
  • Ask Melissa Bachetti if there is already a binder of "notes" on each event from year to year - can keep profit and cost on there too so each year it can be easily referred to.
  • A decision was made to close the savings account and put the money into the CD. Denise at the bank said that we would not be penalized if we wanted to take money out of it.
  • Nikki stated that proper paperwork was not at the bank to get a debit card. Tammy will stop back with a copy of the letter stating the officers.

8th Grade Savings $6331.61

PRINCIPAL'S REPORT: No report presented.

OLD BUSINESS

  • BOXTOPS - Marilisa reported good results. The holiday papers worked great. She is keeping track of all who donate. She wants to make a bigger deal of the winners of the gift cards. Tammy will call Lisa Bousquet about the Boxtops she has.
  • CONFERENCE LUNCHEON - There was plenty of food. Many teachers sent thank you notes and expressed their gratitude. Discussed issue of directing PTO concerns and questions at PTO meetings and not making personal phone calls.
  • STUDENT DIRECTORY - Has been completed by Vicki MacDonald before vacation but has not been distributed. Joe O'Connor donated all of the supplies and printing. It was discussed that next year we need to list parents names separate instead of "Mr. and Mrs."
  • SHOPPING IN DECEMBER - This event went well but we feel we need to do it earlier next year. Bob Twing played the roll of Santa all night. The PTO will send him a $50 donation with a thank you note to Betsy Fox who took pictures for free all night. Nikki stated that the profit was $398.00 before the Santa donation.
  • 2 HOUR PLEDGE - Leigh Ann will put the completed forms into a binder so we can look at it for extra help during PTO events.
  • LOWE'S TOOLS FOR EDUCATION - Viv's husband is working on writing the grant and will put it in the mail.
  • WISH LIST - Tammy brought a list of the teacher's wishes that have been paid already. The Wish List will be on the agenda each month to discuss any requests. It was suggested that a committee be formed next year for the wish list.

NEW BUSINESS

  • EXTRAS - Salisbury school offers an after school activities program and wanted to know if we would supply a bus to participate. It was decided that NCES already offers AHA and there is not budget for a bus.
  • CHILI FEST - Eve Bouchard would like to have help with a Chili fest next year. She would like to involve restaurants and fire companies. It was agreed to put this topic on the May and September agendas.
  • SENIOR CITIZEN BREAKFAST - This will be discussed at a later date. Leigh Ann Merrill stated that the breakfast will be later this year and will keep the PTO informed.
  • BINGO - This will be held on April 18th. Mark your calendars!
  • CLOTHING DRIVE FUNDRAISER - Nikki introduced a company that will pick up collected items and pay $ .13 per pound. We will collect items from April 14th to April 19th.
  • SCHOLARSHIP - It was discussed that there is only $414 in this account. It was decided that the PTO does have enough money to cover scholarships in other accounts and no fundraiser was discussed.

OTHER DISCUSSION

  • NCES APPAREL SALE - Doing well - Profit of $121.00. We have sold $527 worth of merchandise and it has cost us $406.
  • PIZZA AND BABYSITTING AT PTO MEETINGS - This will be revisited at another time.

Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.

Melissa A. Bachetti
